Regular Events at St John’s
StJ Tots Time
When: Every Monday at 9am - 11am (starting on 13th Oct 25) Term time only.
Where: St John’s Church
What: A welcoming, fun group for babies, toddlers and their parents/carers. An hour of play with free tea and coffee, make your own toast. Followed by a children’s snack and a time of stories and singing. Free of charge - donations welcome.
Prayer Group
When: 1st Tuesday of each month at 7pm
Where: St John’s Parish Room
What: Our prayer group is an opportunity to reflect on and pray for issues and challenges in our community and in the wider world. We have a small and friendly group who meet every month with a different theme.
All-Age Service
When: 1st Sunday of each month at 11:15 am
Where: St John’s Church
What: Our All-Age services are for the young and young-at-heart. They are fun-filled and interactive, a great opportunity for the younger members of our congregation to get involved.
Bible Study
When: Every Wednesday at 7:30 pm
Where: St John’s Church or on Zoom during the winter
What: Our weekly Bible Study sessions are an informal get together, in-person or on Zoom, to reflect on and discuss a different theme in the Bible each week.
Community Lunch
When: 3rd Sunday of each month after the 11:15 am service
Where: St John’s Church
What: Our Community Lunch is an opportunity for our congregation to come together after the service once a month to enjoy food and community together. Food is always provided and everyone is welcome to stay and join in.
Poetry Club
When: 1st Thursday of the month at 2pm
Where: St John’s Church
What: Poetry club is a community event that provides an opportunity to come together and share your favourite poems, browse the varied poetry books available, listen to others read their favourite poems and discuss what we enjoy or dislike about them
Messy Church
When: 4th Saturday of each month from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Where: St John’s Church
What: Messy Church is our popular interactive and creative children’s session. There is a different theme each month and children can get messy and have fun! This is always a free, bookable event. Details are always released in the newsletter as well as on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Lunch Club
When: 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at 12:45 pm
Where: 1st Thursday at St John’s Church and 3rd Thursday at Hope Cafe, 913 High Road, N12 8QJ
What: Lunch Club is a friendly and informal get together to catch up over lunch and a cuppa. Bring your lunch and join us on a Thursday. Everyone is welcome.
Church Cleaning and Gardening
When: 2nd Saturday of each month at 10:00 am
Where: St John’s Church
What: Each month we get together to help around the church and the gardens. We welcome all eager hands to join and even half an hour of help can make a difference. Refreshments are served afterwards.
Meet and Make Group
When: The group meets at different times each month - please contact Meg to get the upcoming dates
Where: St John’s Church
What: Meet and Make is an opportunity to get together to do some crafting. There is a different activity each month and no experience is needed.
Choir Practice
When: We have just appointed a new Director of music - we will be announcing the details of choir rehearsals very soon.
Where: St John’s Church
What: Our choir is led by our Director of Music. We sing a range of music, traditional and contemporary. No experience is needed and you don’t need to be able to read music. Contact directorofmusic.stjohnsn20@gmail.com if you’d like to join.
